What an unexpected treat! On our way to Seattle from the gourmet ghetto of Berkeley and grabbed a LivingSocial for Busters Main Street Cafe. We are foodies for sure, so weren't sure what we would get. Surprise! Great breakfast, really welcoming fun staff, a nice check in from the owner (new, I think...) and we're off again! I heartily happily recommend stopping at Busters when in Cottage Grove.... Sorry Busters, wrote this in early August and look at the date now! Looks like other reviews confirm my pleasure in finding this place.

Can't review the food because i never got past the rude service crew or the snub from them as they seated their friends that had just walked through the door instead of my wife and i who had been patiently waiting for a while.Oh and dont forget to ask them where they REALLY get the orange juice they sell as their own "fresh squeezed".

I don't feel Buster's quite has the warm amosphere it did when the original staff was there. Overall, the food is very good. The last time my family and I went there we were disappointed in the breakfast sausage. We were all looking forward to it, as we had enjoyed it so much on previous visits. This time it just didn't have the kick it usually does.

We stopped by for lunch a few days ago. We were treated so kindly by the man whom I assume is the owner/manager and seated right away. Our waitress was very nice and friendly as well. We had our 1 year-old with us and even she enjoyed the experience. We were seated in the back room. Service was prompt and the food tasted great. We would recommend this restaurant to anybody passing through the area. Note: I had the fish tacos and they were very very delicious!

We had the buttermilk pancakes with bacon and the florentine eggs benedict with hash browns. The pancakes were fluffy, but didn't taste like they had real buttermilk in them - seemed more like the "powdered buttermilk mix". The eggs benedict were very good and the hash browns were cooked just right. The coffee was a notch above standard diner coffee but not great. The service was excellent. Overall, it was a good experience, but in my view a bit overpriced and didn't quite live up to the rave reviews we read.

Sorry Buster's, after my experience this morning, I have to change my star rating to 3... The people are very nice, but the food was barely OK this morning. The food was cold, the eggs on my eggs benedict florentine were poached so hard they were almost hard boiled eggs, the english muffin was soggy (needs to be toasted longer!) and the spinach was raw. I don't recall if it said raw spinach on the menu but I have never had a florentine eggs benedict with raw spinach. It is usually sauteed. The hollindaise sauce is very good, one of the best I have had. My husband got the biscuits and gravy. He said it was good but again, cold. The home fries were much greasier than I remember, but OK.

Me and a friend went there for lunch with a groupon. My friend had the mushroom cheese burger and I had a bacon cheese burger, with our order we got the tater tots served on the side. The food was prepared quickly and ready to eat with-in 10 minutes. We were absolutely impressed with the flavor. The owner told us he uses local beef that is grass fed. The difference is stunning. If your in this area give them a try.

The best quality food available. Unique menu items with excellent customer service. Fair prices, BUT the seating arrangements are terrible and cramped. One day I will walk in and the only table by the window will be finally unoccupied.

Great food and outstanding service in a funky setting. We stopped in at 7 am on a road trip. They made us feel like locals.

The best breakfast in town can be had at Buster's. They have excellent omelets, pancakes and biscuits and gravy. The sandwiches at lunch are very good as well. I love the Rueben. Come early, as the seating is limited, and it has become quite popular with the locals.

The back of their shirts say best breakfast in the the grove and they're not lying. The biscuits are light and beautifully textured. The gravy was quite nice as well. We sat outside and still had excellent service.

I'm going to preface this by saying i rarely review on here. However, this is a place people need to know about! My Husband (Kenn)and I moved to this little town a bit over a year ago and we cannot get enough of this place! It's our go-to breakfast & lunch spot. The staff and food are impeccable. As a matter of fact, I can't think of a weekend or week that we've missed. They have 3 new weekly specials; a breakfast, and a lunch as well as stuffed french toast which is just incredible... It's the 8 th wonder if the world for me! It is compiled of Texas style toast -nice and thick - with marscapone cheese and whatever homemade topping they are using for the week stuffed between the slices. It is then drizzled with the compote or reduction they've made from scratch, sprinkled with hazelnuts, a little whipped cream and two crispy candied pieces of bacon. The chefs are allowed creative freedom and this makes for a very pleasant and delicious establishment. This spot is where we take any family and friends. The owner, Paul, reminds me of the area I grew up in. He loves to chat and wants you to be absolutely happy with every visit. As long as this restaurant is opene I will be a loyal patron!

My parents and I stopped here on our way from Eugene to Ashland. The food was excellent. I had the special burger (buffalo cheddar cheese with chipotle aioli). The burger was a perfect medium and had lots of flavor. They use high quality beef and it makes a great deal of difference. I liked the spice. My dad had their reuben sandwich (he is an authority on reubens). He said the flavor was good and it was a very generous portion. Consider splitting, he says. My mom had the corned beef hash. The corned beef was thickly cut and the potatoes were nice and crispy; the best part, she says. The environment was pleasant and clean, and the staff was knowledgeable and welcoming. Should we find ourselves in the area again we will certainly visit again.

In one word...phenomenal huckleberry stuffed French toast! And the candied bacon was the tastiest we have ever had! A must stop on your way over I-5 in mid-Oregon!

It's no wonder why Buster's has such awesome accolades. Even though our meals were simple eggs, home fries, toast, and bacon, the food was superb. It's about time someone cooks bacon crisp! The service was spot on and the folks were friendly. I would definitely recommend stopping in for a bite. When we left, the place was starting to fill up, so looks like you may want to get in early.

The best place to eat in cottage grove! Home made dressings, gravy, salads are made with mixed greens, fries aren't greasy, bacon is crispy. The service is on spot! It is small and crowded but the food and service over come that.

Blavk bean burger and Fish Taco are delicious! The Veggie Curry soup is even better. Nice ambiance and staff. Very cool place.

Honestly I would give this place a solid 3 . Food was mediocre, not great but better then a Denny's lol. Me and my boyfriend ordered the biscuits and gravy, eggs Benedict and a side pancake with Huckleberry compote. I asked for the compote on the side to prevent that pivotal moment when your syrup makes your pancake a big pile of mush. Went and picked up my order and the owner/manager was standing in front of the door greeting people. I went in and paid then took my food home. As I was leaving the owner came up to me and said something about not normally doing take out on Saturday's and Sunday's because he didn't want his customers sitting down to wait too long, which made me feel kind of unwelcome. The food was warm, everything was in tact and it tasted good. However the compote was on top of my pancake and tasted like the berries were made from dehydrated berries rehydrated in boiling water and made into a syrup which was really gross and too sweet.

This place was amazingly wonderful . My husband had the Ruben sandwich which was so delicious . I ordered the extremely hard to find Monte Cristo . Yummy. ! It was made perfectly with raspberry jelly and powdered sugar. Just the way it's suppose to be. We will be back

This is her second visit here and it won't be our last. We really love this little gem of a restaurant found in downtown cottage Grove. We went for a late brunch on an incredibly hot day and we're seated instantly if only they could find a way to run the air conditioner back where were seated. Food never fails please. Eggs Benedict particularly the alternatives with crab and lobster are wonderful, portions are huge services excellent. Hot chocolate comes with chocolate syrup over the whip cream and is really great.

Just had a delicious meal with awesome service. We happened upon this place today, first time, based on yelp reviews. If you are around this area it is a MUST!! Don't forget to check out the store next door that offers craft beverages. Even if you don't find something you like the owner and/or employee (?) is super nice and knowledgable.

Our group of 8 golfers aimed for Busters after our 9 holes for lunch. What a great find!! Everyone one was happy with their choice. And considering the wide variety of choices, our food arrived very quickly. Wait staff gal excellent in meeting our requests. Sweet potato puffs like eating candy. Eggs Crabcake Benedict with frys choice. I had a Hawaiian Loco Moco which I thought more flavorful than one in Honolulu.. We are camping for 2weeks at Pine Meadows campground at the US Army Corps CG reservoir and plan two more visits to Busters..

This is a great place with great folks working here. We had the elk burger with sweet potato puffs and it was so fresh and tasty! The staff went out of their way with selections and favors we might appreciate. Be aware they stop serving at 2pm.

We stumbled upon Buster's . What a find! Today's lunch special in this tiny little dive was grilled Breast of pheasant! There are at least 15 kinds of root beer available along with dozens of unique sodas-- and tons of beers. We loved our meals-- elk burger and a classic cheeseburger with the home-made pickles. It was great.

Came in for breakfast on our last day in cottage grove. We had a Denver omelet, stuffed french toast, steak and eggs& a bacon burger. The food was fabulous! !Service was outstanding. We had to wait about 20 minutes yo be seated but it was worth the wait! ! Thank you for the great food and exceptional service..

We stopped in late on a Sunday for brunch. Traveling south on I-5 and hungry, I Yelped for a good place to eat. What a find was Busters! The wait was supposed to be 15 mins but was about five which was great. The food was extraordinary. My husband had the most plentiful and beautiful Reuben we have ever seen. He said it was just as delicious. I had a smoked salmon omelet without capers but with hollandaise sauce which was also great...oh and hash browns, which clearly are not usually on my plate but well worth the indulgence! The food was fantastic, the service great. A good find and nice break in the long haul through Oregon.

This place is amazing! My husband and I were on our way to Portland from San Fran. I was starving and wanted to find a decent place to have a meal. We happened on this place, courtesy of a Yelp search. I am so happy we found it! Cottage Grove is a sleepy little town, but down let that deter you from having one of the most creative meals ever. YUM! This place is farm to table and they really amp up there specials. Whatever is the special of the day be sure it nab it! Also, all of the employees are super sweet and great at their jobs! We had the corned beef hash (my husband said it was the best he had ever had), the cognac sausage Benedict, and the pinot noir sausage Benedict. Everything was amazing. They really do something special with their hollandaise sauce. Also, get the freshly made lemonade or one of the bottles of kombucha. My personal favorite is the lime coconut. It's made in Bend, OR and is very refreshing. BE SURE TO CHECK OUT THEIR ATTACHED SODA, WINE, AND BEER SHOP!

Here with a group of 6 and wait 30 minutes. As other part of group gets there 30 minutes later the owner then informs us we have 30 more minutes. I don't mind if you have a policy that you won't seat people until all the party is there just tell me up front so we don't wait 35 minutes then tell us we have 30 more to wait. To top that off when we addressed this with him and told him were leaving he said I'm full all day im not to worried about it. Really bad customer service shame because I heard food is good.

Very disappointed. I have heard nothing but rave reviews about this place. What my husband and I ordered was average, at best. While they were busy, no one checked to see if everything was okay, and my husband was never offered any drink refill. While we sat in this hot restaurant waiting. We never got a check and after 10 minutes of waiting got up and went to the register. Don't think we will return, sad because I wanted to really like it.

Great food! Outstanding service! We were passing thru and read another Yelp review , so decided to stop for lunch on a Sunday. Had to wait for a table, definitely worth it. I had arguably the best patty melt ever. Wife had eggs Benedict and my kids had fish and chips. All fresh and as locally-sourced as possible. The owner is nice as can be, takes time to chat about the food, and the servers are friendly and engaged. They have a small bottle shop next door where you can get some local brews to go with your meal or stock your cooler.

Great Place for Breakfast and Lunch. Staff is very friendly not to mention they give free meals to veterans on the 11th of every month..

I stayed a couple nights in Cottage Grove and found this place the first morning and going back for a 2nd! Had the wonderful stuffed french toast and can't wait to try their eggs benedict. The food and service were both wonderful!

Came on vacation through Cottage Grove and decided to do the bike path to the lake. Wanted a hearty meal before we started. This place hit the spot. Food is well priced, hearty, savory, and filling. Can't complain.

Paul and his crew have done a fantastic job with this eatery. Best breakfast in Cottage Grove, OR. They aren't open for Dinner, close after lunch at 2:00pm. Try his Bottle Shop a couple doors down as well.

The food here was fantastic! So flavorful and perfect portion sizes too. Not to mention the prices here were so cheap!! My fiancé and I were passing through on our way home back to Vancouver WA and I'm so glad we decided to stop here for breakfast! Our waiter was so friendly and patient, and when it took a little longer than expected to get my side order of fruit, he so graciously didn't charge us! So sweet of him! The atmosphere was so cozy and quaint too. If we're ever in this area again around breakfast time, we will definitely stop back in!

It was shocking! I took my daughter there today for Daddy daughter date. Comfort food done very well, and artistic. Look at some of the pictures of the other reviews. They are spot on. From the time we walked in to the time we walked out we were treated like rockstars. This isn't an exageration. They treated us exceptionally well. I can't express how grateful I am to have been treated that well! Then it came up that I was a veteran. We went from rockstars to royalty. They give vets 20% off everything and on the 11th of the month vets eat free. Anything on the menu free. No special menu, no nit picking. Regular menu, anything free. Except alchol, oh darn. We even got to meet the owner as he was taking in inventory. He checked on us twice, just passing by. Our servers were very attentive but by no means annoying. We didn't stretch the chefs legs on technical skill or difficulty. We had a wheat grilled cheese, made with real cheddar, it was perfect, with a side of fries. I had the corned beef hash - crispy and two eggs over medium with sour dough toast. Everything was perfect. Please eat there. They deserve your business because they respect you, and they respect Veterans.

This place is the hidden gem of Cottage Grove! The food is exciting and delicious, the staff are friendly and genuinely enjoy the work they do! Paul is always around helping where it's needed. It does get HOT in the summer, but it's soo worth it. The bottle shoppe is a fun way for my kids to try some new things, and I love all the ciders. Dont pass this one by. Yum.

Consistently the best breakfast I've found anywhere. They have a A different chef feature every time I come in, featuring specialty meats sometimes like elk, salmon, buffalo, steelhead, etc... Caters to veterans! Can be busy, but the service is personal and very friendly! My highest recommendation!

  • T Raven M.

We always know that our service and cuisine will be stellar! I love their Chipotle hollandaise and our sons go crazy for the bacon and tots. Sometimes they just get that! So mom and pops can enjoy this sexy hotspot in this small country town.

Wish I would have had breakfast. Went for the house made all veggie burger. It was a little bland and felt apart as I was trying to way it. Everyone else at my table had great food. The Smoked Salmon omelet was the best option by far. We were placed in a back room that looked as if it was set up for overflow. Service was slow but it was a very busy day. No music which always makes me uncomfortable in moments of silence. Over all I would go again, but I would sit at the bar top and order breakfast.

What an excellent find! More hand crafted sodas than you could dream of, plus a bottle shop next door with mix and match 6 packs. I ordered the Eggs Florentine which was superb! Prefect hollandaise sauce. Very friendly staff and relaxing atmosphere.
